Katy Scoggin is an award-winning documentary director, producer, and camerawoman. She worked for Laura Poitras for six years, during which she was a co-producer and cinematographer on Oscar-winning CITIZENFOUR and its follow-up, Risk; and an associate producer on Emmy-nominated The Oath. She was also a producer and/or DP on Poitras's NY Times OpDocs The Program and Death of a Prisoner. In 2016, she filmed cinema vérité on the US campaign trail for filmmaker and Field of Vision co-founder AJ Schnack. In 2017, she directed and shot her debut feature doc, Flood, which explores polarizing beliefs that can stretch our closest relationships to the breaking point. Flood has received support from the Sundance Institute, Film Independent, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, NYU, DCTV, IFP Documentary Lab, and the MacDowell Colony. The project is entering post-production with a yearlong BAVC MediaMaker Fellowship.
